Sustainability

LAS VEGAS, NV (November 18, 2013) — Extending its commitment to sustainable manufacturing, Creel Printing has achieved Tri-Certification. This distinction underscores Creel’s responsible stewardship and signifies its compliance with the exacting standards of three top environmental authorities—the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®) License code FSC-CO22441, the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) NSC-SFICOC-C0171470, and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) NSF-PEFCCOC-C0171470. Moreover, it provides Creel’s customers the assurance that manufacturing materials are trackable from their origin—and fully sustainable.

Tri-Certification augments Creel’s long history of leadership in “green” practices and production. Creel began utilizing FSC-qualified materials in 2007, and boasts one of the most extensive recycling/recapture programs in the nation. Through these and other initiatives, Creel continues to bring market-superior sustainability solutions that help clients meet their own compliance and end-customer goals. They have also resulted in attractive cost savings—for both Creel and its customers. A rigorous process, Tri-Certification has been achieved by only a handful of graphic arts suppliers.

“Creel is a company that is always seeking new ways to make meaningful contributions that help customers move forward,” said Ed Gudewicz, Quality Control Manager. “Our Tri-Certification is an accolade that clients can leverage in their own sustainability and marketing initiatives.”

Founded in 1953, Creel Printing is one of the most tenured and awarded family-owned enterprises in the world of print. Ranked among the top 50 commercial printers and 10 largest publication printers nationwide, Creel’s capabilities span full-color web and sheetfed printing; variable digital production; digital editioning; integrated publishing solutions; web-based storefronts; digital rights management; mobile marketing; and more. Creel operates a state-of-the-art, 250,000-square-foot headquarters in Las Vegas, an Idaho-based digital enterprise, and an open-web plant. Creel holds G7 master certifications, along with numerous mailing, environmental, and lean manufacturing distinctions. The company runs three shifts, working 24/7.

Creel Attains New Milestone in Sustainability

LAS VEGAS, NV (August 21, 2012) — Creel Printing has extended its G7 designation, achieving Master Printer certification across prepress, sheetfed, and heatset web operations. It is among an elite group of G7-certified printers in the southwest, and is the only company in Nevada holding all three merits. Creel has held the prestigious G7 distinction since 2009.

G7 Master qualification signifies that a company uses the most modern technology, standards, and quality controls to produce a near-exact match from proof to print, time after time, regardless of substrate. With Creel’s combined prepress/press certifications, customers are ensured the best possible accuracy from their final files, enabling easy one-stop sourcing. Since it reduces waste and make-ready times, G7 is also a more cost-effective and sustainable approach to printing — an added benefit.

“Perfect color matching makes a critical difference in companies’ advertising and marketing results, yet few print providers can achieve it,” said Chris Evans, VP, Premedia & Customer Solutions. “Creel’s closed-loop, proof-to-press G7-certified process guarantees exact reproduction. Our customers can be confident they are getting the very best possible color match and the meticulous quality Creel is known for.”

With the quality and control benefits, more and more businesses are seeking out G7-certified suppliers. “Creel Printing will continue to drive the solutions that bring the most value to our clients’ businesses,” Evans adds.

The third G7 Master Printer achievement is just one more accomplishment for the perpetually innovating Creel. The company has added a number of new customers and is rapidly growing its web, mobile, digital magazine and advertising, and full-color digital printing capabilities.
