JANUARY 22, 2012 Domestic Mailing Services Price Change The United States Postal Service announced price adjustments after their filing with the Postal Regulatory Commission. The average change is 2.1% for the four main classes of domestic mail. If the request is approved, without modification, Sunday, January 22 will be the implementation date. USPS Network Optimization Updates The United States Postal Service announced plans to reconfigure the network processing facilities, both to optimize use and close redundant facilities to reduce costs. What does this change mean to the average customer? Customers will likely no longer receive mail the day after it is mailed. In all likelihood, this change will go relatively unnoticed by the average customer.
