RETROFIT: CREEL continually works to “retrofit” systems and procedures to be more sustainable. We have implemented numerous mechanical and operational measures that streamline production while reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This includes installing high-efficiency lighting, employing lean manufacturing principles, re-engineering equipment, and making various logistics and freight improvements. Through these and other practices, CREEL meets or exceeds all environmental emissions regulations for manufacturing on both state and federal levels.
RECYCLE: CREEL follows extremely strict recycling/reuse guidelines. Recycling is actively promoted throughout our plants — from manufacturing through administration. CREEL uses soy-based inks, recycled plates, and low-VOC solvents, and stocks numerous options for pre- and post-consumer recycled substrates. CREEL also works with clients on formats and finishing techniques, as well as freight options, to further minimize scrap and reduce our carbon footprint.
PARTICIPATE: CREEL is one of a handful of graphic arts suppliers that has achieved Tri-Certification. This distinction signifies CREEL’s compliance with the rigorous standards of the three top environmental authorities — the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®), and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC). Through these and other measures, CREEL enables businesses to make purchasing decisions that benefit people and the environment while meeting their own sustainability mandates.
